Do you plan to attend a university, college or trade school next year? If you do, you'll want to complete the PSI Selection form.
The Post Secondary Institution (PSI) Selections form is now available online for students graduating in June, 2012. This electronic PSI Selections form should only be submitted by students who expect to graduate this year and are applying to a PSI (e.g universities, colleges and trade schools).
An instructional document has been posted for schools at the TRAX Information Updates web page: http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/trx_updates/ . This document includes snap shots of all the screens students will use to select PSIs.
Students access this online form by logging into the Student Secure Web (SSW) site: https://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/tsw/tsw/student/ and click the “Post Secondary Institutions Selections” menu option. Note that students who do not yet have a SSW account will need to create one prior to gaining access option. Note that students who do not yet have a SSW account will need to create one prior to gaining access to the PSI Selections form.
Students’ PSI selections must be submitted by April 30 for interim transcript information to be forwarded to BC and Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC) institutions in May for early admission. For final transcript information to be sent to PSIs by July 31, 2009, students must submit their PSI selections by June 30. In addition to the BC Electronic PSIs option and the OUAC Electronic PSIs option in Section 1 of the form, students may submit a maximum of six selections. Requests to send transcripts to additional PSIs can be made for a fee by completing a “Transcript Request Form” available at: http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/transcript/transcripts_ordering.htm
Accessing the Electronic PSI Selections form
Students access the electronic Selections form from the Student Secure Web. Schools do not have access to this site. This is a personal document which requires students to provide authorization for the ministry to release their information to outside institutions.
Step 1: Students log into their account through the Student Secure Web and select the link “Post Secondary Institution Selections”
Step 2: Students should carefully read through the “Important Notes” before selecting the “Select PSIs” link.
Step 3: Section 1 allows students to select all of the BC Electronic PSIs and/or the Ontario University Application Centre. In addition, they may make a total of six more selections from Sections 2 and 3.
If a desired PSI is not listed, the PSI Additions form must be completed and submitted electronically to the ministry.
Once all choices have been selected students hit the “Next” button to proceed to the authorization page.
Step 4: Students must confirm and authorize the ministry to forward their information as requested.
Step 5: Students should print off this page as a confirmation of their selections. Alternatively this page can also be viewed again at a later date by viewing the “View PSI Selections” link on the introduction page (Step 2).
